Privacy policy

Overgewicht Nederland processes as little personal data as possible. We only process health information if you choose to provide it yourself when signing up for the support programme and give explicit consent for this. In this privacy policy you can read which data we do use, for what purpose, how long we keep it and what rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (Algemene verordening gegevensbescherming, AVG).

Who is responsible?

The data controller is Gijs Bodenstaff / Overgewicht Nederland. Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number: to follow. Overgewicht Nederland has no visiting address. You can ask questions about privacy via info@overgewichtnederland.com or via WhatsApp and phone on 06-38048347.

These are the retention periods we apply as policy. Once they have expired, we delete the data. We do not sell data and do not pass it on to clinics, not even to WeightWorks Clinics (partner of this site). The only exception is a sign-up for the support programme: with your consent, we forward it to Overgewicht Nederland B.V. A copy of your name, phone number, email address and programme (without your request for help) also goes into our sign-up list in Google Forms. We do not send you a newsletter unless you ask for one separately.

If you use WhatsApp, your message also passes through the WhatsApp (Meta) service. WhatsApp's own privacy rules also apply to this. If you do not want that, email us.

We conclude a data processing agreement with parties that process data on our behalf, such as the site hosting or the email program. They may only use the data for the service they provide to us.

Health data

Data about your health is extra sensitive. That is why we ask for as little of it as possible. Our forms do not ask for weight, height, diagnosis or medication. Only when signing up for the support programme can you choose what you mainly want help with, for example menopause or PCOS. We only send that choice along if you tick a separate box for it, and never to Google Forms.

  • The calculator to calculate your BMI only calculates in your own browser. Nothing is stored and nothing is sent to us.
  • The three questions under am I eligible are not stored or sent either.
  • If you do send us medical information in a message, we do not use it and refer you to your GP (huisarts). You can ask us to delete the message.

Videos, statistics and third parties

Videos. YouTube videos only load when you click play. Until that click, your browser makes no connection with YouTube. After the click, we use the more privacy-friendly variant youtube-nocookie.com. YouTube (Google) may then process data according to its own rules.

No tracking pixels. We do not use advertising or tracking pixels, such as those from Meta or TikTok. We do not follow you across other websites.

Statistics. We do not measure visitor statistics with cookies. If we keep track of how often pages are viewed, we do so without cookies and without data that makes you personally identifiable. More about this in the Overgewicht Nederland cookie policy.

Your rights

Under the GDPR (AVG), you have these rights:

  • Access: you may ask what data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: you may have incorrect data corrected.
  • Erasure: you may ask for your data to be deleted.
  • Restriction and objection: you may ask us to do less with your data, or object to its use on the basis of legitimate interest.
  • Withdrawal of consent: for example for a registration. This applies from the moment of withdrawal.
  • Portability: you may receive your data in a common file format.

Send your request to info@overgewichtnederland.com. We respond within one month, as the GDPR (AVG) requires. Sometimes we ask you to show that the data concerns you. Do not send a copy of your ID with it.

Not happy with how we handle your data? Let us know first, and we will look for a solution together. You also always have the right to file a complaint with the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

We may amend this policy, for example if we start using a new service. The version on this page is always the one that applies. Last updated: 25-09-2026. See also the disclaimer and the contact page.
