Terms and conditions

These terms and conditions apply to everyone who visits overgewichtnederland.com, uses downloads or signs up for an information evening or livestream. In short: you may freely use and print the information and the downloads for practice and patient, but you may not modify them or use them commercially.

1. Who are we?

Overgewicht Nederland is an information guide about overweight and obesity, published by Gijs Bodenstaff. Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number: to follow. 2. Use of the information

  • The information on this site is general information and not medical advice. Please also read the disclaimer.
  • You may use the site free of charge for personal use and for health education in healthcare.
  • You may quote short passages of text, with a clear source reference and a link to the page.
  • You may not copy entire pages onto another website, modify them or pass them off as your own.
  • You may not use the site in a way that disrupts how it works, such as automatically downloading pages in bulk or sending spam via the forms.

Texts, images, infographics and downloads are protected by copyright. All rights belong to the publisher, unless stated otherwise. Images and videos by others remain the property of their creators.

3. Downloads and printed materials

We offer free materials, such as the conversation card, the patient leaflet, the referral card, the waiting room poster, the waiting room screen and the flyer for information evenings. You can find them in the Overgewicht Nederland downloads and, for healthcare professionals, in the materials for the practice.

The following applies to these materials:

  • Allowed: printing, copying, displaying, showing and handing out in GP practices, health centres, care groups and to patients and their loved ones. Free of charge and without prior permission.
  • Not allowed: changing or removing the content, the logo, the sources or the partner credit.
  • Not allowed: selling the materials, using them in advertising or using them for a commercial service.

Would you like to do something else with the materials, such as an adapted version for your care group? Please contact us first. When using them, also check that you have the latest version, as figures and waiting times change.

4. Sign-ups for information evenings and livestreams

  • Taking part in the information evenings and livestreams is free and without obligation.
  • You sign up with your first name, email address, the event and the number of people. We do not ask for medical information.
  • Can't make it? Let us know and we will give your place to someone else.
  • We may move or cancel an event, for example if a speaker is ill or too few people sign up. We will let you know as soon as possible. You are not entitled to compensation.
  • During an evening or livestream you receive general explanations, not personal medical advice.
  • What we do with your sign-up details is set out in the privacy policy.

5. Liability

We make this site with care, using sources and medical review. Even so, we cannot guarantee that all information is always correct, complete and up to date. Waiting times, insurance cover and guidelines may change after we checked them. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damage resulting from the use of this site, the downloads or the calculators, or from the site being temporarily unavailable. This also applies to the content of websites we link to. This limitation does not apply in the case of intent or gross negligence.

6. Applicable law and changes

These terms and the use of the site are governed by Dutch law. We will first try to resolve any dispute together. If that does not work, the competent court in the Netherlands has jurisdiction.
